Drip cakes.....Oh how I love thee in all your drippy splendor. I decided to finally attempt the ever so trendy cake. Boy, I tell you... drip cakes are fun! This particular cake was for a class held at my church. It oozed luxury. Rich chocolate layers with salted caramel filling, iced with silky smooth vanilla bean Swiss meringue buttercream. Topped with chocolate ganache drip and a delicate gum paste fantasy flower. Adorned with tiny edible gold pearls. OMG.... this just might be the Rolls Royce of cakes...if there is ever such a thing. Its simple elegant exterior and rich yummy interior is a force to be reckoned with.
I'm happy to report that everyone loved it! There were hardly any leftovers to bring home (which is never a bad thing). The best thing about this cake is that it was so simple and easy to put together. I definitely see many more drip cakes in my future!
