Trifles are a beautiful thing. Layers upon layers upon layers of sweet mousses, custards, fruit...whatever tickles your fancy (lol). These layers are delicately placed in a glass vase/ trifle bowl in such a way that we can view each section and admire it's beauty through the glass. Cool thing about trifles are that they are relatively easy to make and assemble. And..... easy is great right?
My family and I were recently invited to have dinner at a friend's house. We just couldn't show up empty handed with empty tummies so, as a token of our gratitude, we decided to bring dessert. Hence, the lemon berry cheesecake trifle was born (well... dramatics aside as I didn't CREATE the concept, just customized it to our tastes).
This right here is the epitome of summer. Yummy lemon berry trifle with layers of graham cracker crust, luscious lemon cheesecake, lemon curd, fresh blueberries, and homemade vanilla bean whipped cream 😛. (too bad there isn't a mouthwatery, drooly emoji) A sprig of fresh mint and fresh lemon zest gave just the right finishing touch. It was so easy to make and soooooo goooood!! This just might be a summertime dessert staple in our household.
I'm happy to report that it was also a hit with our dinner hosts.
